It currently provides 410 beds, including 14 intensive\ncare beds, and is fitted with high-tech equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the\nprocess for acquiring the ACI \u2013 Accreditation Canada International status was ongoing,\nthe hospital identified the need for a quality system for extracting reliable\ndata, thus improving the process of managing and analysing the clinical\nindicators of its ICU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Solution<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The need\nto obtain its indicators more rapidly and accurately drove the CHU Ambroise\nPar\u00e9 to participate in the MICA &#8211; Monitoring Intensive Care Activities project,\nlaunched in 2017 across Belgium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a\nresult, the hospital has adopted the Epimed Monitor ICU system for managing and\nanalysing clinical and performance indicators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To facilitate data acquisition, the Epimed Monitor system was integrated in the hospital\u2019s IT systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Results<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Using the Epimed\nMonitor ICU system has made it possible to monitor clinical and performance\nindicators more accurately, and to enable increased compliance with best\npractices together with existing protocols in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The benchmarking offered by the system has allowed the CHU Ambroise Par\u00e9 to compare itself with other ICUs in Belgium. By analysing the SAPS 3 score, the CHU Ambroise Par\u00e9 concluded that it obtained excellent results in terms of severity compared to those of other ICUs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>We\u2019re in the middle of the accreditation process and the <strong>Epimed Monitor ICU <\/strong>system has been an effective instrument in this process.
