Care happens when information is interpreted within a specific clinical, human and social context. It requires understanding the capabilities and limitations of AI systems. It requires critical thinking to evaluate recommendations. It requires the ability to integrate information from multiple sources. And it requires the professional judgment to decide when to follow, question or even disregard an algorithm&#8217;s recommendation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">In other words, artificial intelligence does not reduce the need for clinical judgment. It makes it even more essential.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The more information becomes available, the greater the value of professionals who can transform that information into sound clinical decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">More Technology to Deliver Better Care<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Hospitals that have adopted artificial intelligence responsibly are beginning to observe an important outcome. The greatest benefit is not simply greater efficiency or improved performance indicators.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The real benefit lies in giving healthcare professionals more time, energy and attention for the activities that require clinical judgment, communication, coordination among multidisciplinary teams and meaningful relationships with patients and their families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">When technology helps organize information, prioritize risks and support decision-making, healthcare professionals can devote more time to what inspired most of them to pursue a career in medicine and healthcare in the first place: caring for people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">This vision has guided Epimed since its founding.
