Durante los a\u00f1os 2020 y 2021, dichos n\u00fameros pr\u00e1cticamente se duplicaron e impactaron directamente en los \u00edndices de mortalidad.<\/p>\r\n<p>En 2022 retomamos un est\u00e1ndar m\u00e1s cercano al normal, ya que las internaciones por COVID-19 se redujeron dr\u00e1sticamente y la enfermedad se torn\u00f3 menos agresiva, gracias a la amplia vacunaci\u00f3n, al uso de corticoides y a las mejoras en la atenci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica global. De todas maneras, a pesar de que dicho escenario nos trajo cierto alivio, es necesaria la evaluaci\u00f3n cr\u00edtica de los resultados, considerando los n\u00fameros que generan las grandes bases de datos, como los proyectos de UCIs Brasile\u00f1as y LOGIC.<\/p>\r\n<p>En Brasil, pacientes con VM todav\u00eda presentan una mortalidad promedio superior al 40 % e internaciones de larga duraci\u00f3n en UCI.
