Carlos Eduardo Reis

MD, MBA – Co-founder and CEO

Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with residency in Internal Medicine and Executive MBA in HealthCare Management from IBMEC. Carlos has 20 years of experience in the healthcare market, within leading multinational pharmaceutical companies in more than 20 countries throughout Latin America, the United States and Europe.

He is the founder of MedStudents: a portal that later became eMedicine Solutions, a leader in medical education and online marketing in Latin America and Europe. He has been and is a founder and investor in other health sector companies, including Interfisio and InfoSalutis.

In 2008, along with Jorge Salluh and Marcio Soares, he founded Epimed Solutions and as CEO he is responsible for the leadership of Epimed Solutions.

Jorge Salluh

MD, PhD – Co-founder and Scientific Director

Graduated in Medicine, trained and specialized in Pulmonary and Critical care, Jorge Salluh also has a Masters and Ph.D. in Internal Medicine (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ). He is a board-certified intensivist (Brazilian Association of Intensive Medicine – AMIB) since 2000.

He is a professor of the postgraduate program at D’Or Institute for Research and UFRJ. Furthermore, he was director of the intensive care units (ICUs) at the National Cancer Institute in Rio de Janeiro.

He is a founder of Epimed Solutions and oversees the scientific area. He is currently editor-in-chief of the renowned scientific journal Critical Care Science.

Marcio Soares

MD, PhD – Co-founder and Vice President of Research and Development

Graduated in Medicine, Marcio also has Masters and Doctorate in Internal Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). The Brazilian Association of Intensive Medicine (AMIB) regards him as a Specialist in Intensive Care.

With extensive experience in clinical research and various publications in indexed scientific journals, he has a scholarship in the CNPQ and actively teaches on the Graduate Programs in Clinical Medicine, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and Oncology at the National Cancer Institute.

As a founder of Epimed Solutions, he is responsible for research and development, new technology and new solutions. In 2024, he assumed the role of Vice President of R&D.

Luciana Miguez

Vice President of Operations

Graduated in Social Communication from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Luciana has a specialization in Service Marketing and post-graduate diploma in Marketing, both from Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV).

Luciana has 15 years’ experience in healthcare within pharmaceutical industries throughout Latin America, USA, and Europe. She joined Epimed Solutions in 2012.

In 2024, she assumed the role of Vice President of Operations.

Marcus Moreira

Vice President of Finance

Graduated in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus has a Post Graduate Diploma “MBA in Marketing” from Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and a full MBA from Vanderbilt University in the United States.

He has 15 years of experience in finance and control in multinational and national companies in the Health Sector.

Since January 2012, he has held the position of financial director at Epimed Solutions. In 2024, he assumed the position of Vice President of Finance.

Tiago Reimberg

Latin America Commercial Director

Graduated in Mathematics and Physics at the University of São Paulo, has large experience in statistics, data management and performance indicators.

Has been working for over 15 years in the hospital market throughout Brazil, for national and multinational companies, as Product Manager of adult, pediatric and neonatal intensive care unit indicator management systems.

At Epimed Solutions since 2014, working as a Commercial Manager for the Rio de Janeiro state, inner São Paulo state, Espírito Santo state, and the Brazilian Northern and Northeastern regions. He held the position of Commercial Director for Brazil and is currently Commercial Director for Latin America.

Ana Carolina Chiarello

Product Development Director

Graduated in Nursing from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), she holds a specialization in Intensive Care and an MBA in Advanced Healthcare Services Management from São Camilo University Center and an MBA in Project Management from FGV.

Experience of 16 years in the area of Intensive Care.

She has been working as a nurse in the Intensive Care Unit of the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics since 2006.

She has been working at Epimed since March 2011 and currently holds the position of Director of Product Development.

Lucas Garcia

RN, MBA, MSc, DSc – Customer Servicer Director

Health executive, nurse, researcher, and professor. Lucas has a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Health Care Science from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFF), an MBA in Quality Management from Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, a specialist degree in Intensive Care and Oncology from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), and a specialist degree in Hospital Accreditation from the National Accreditation Organization (ONA).

He has expertise and solid experience in clinical management, health performance, care practices and patient safety, and he has worked for over ten years with health management, quality implementation and assessment, risk management, and analysis and investigation of adverse events.

Renata Bujokas

Vice President of Sales and New Business

Graduated in Physiotherapy from PUC-PR, she holds a specialization in Intensive Care from FIOCRUZ. Experience of 15 years in the area of Intensive Care, with experience in reputed hospitals in Rio de Janeiro, such as HEMORIO, IPEC and the Brazilian National Cancer Institute – INCA-HCI.

She has been working at Epimed Solutions since 2009. She started as Regional Sales Manager in this year, and, in 2015, she held the Commercial Management position of the company, remaining therein for 2 years.

In 2017, she takes up the position of Country Manager in Belgium. In 2024, she assumed the role of Vice President of Sales and New Business.

Marcel Muraro

Public Projects Director

Bachelor of Business Administration and post-graduate degree in Marketing from Mackenzie Presbyterian Institute. He has worked in the commercial and business areas for over 20 years in the health sector, from prospecting for new customers to managing strategic accounts and implementing business units.

He is currently the head of the business unit targeting the segment of public sector institutions.

Maíra Freire

Brazil Commercial Director

Studied Nursing at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), holds a specialism in intensive care from INC, an MBA in Project Management from FGV and an MBA in Business Management from IBMEC.

Started at Epimed in 2014 as Product Development Analyst, moving on to Commercial Manager of the North and Northeast regions and then, after three years in the sales area, became Project Manager for Brazil.

In July 2022, she took over as Commercial Director for Hospital Networks and, in 2023, as Commercial Director for Brazil.

Débora Igreja

Human Resources Officer

Debora graduated in Production Engineering from Universidade Federal Fluminense (Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro) and has an MBA in Oil and Gas from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She has more than 25 years of experience and specialization in the various Human Resources subsystems, in large multinational companies in the Oil, Telecommunications and Technology industries, and in supporting service globalization projects, as well as mergers of companies and organizational change management.

Guilherme Côrtes

MD, PHD – Global Market Access Director

Obtained his degree in Medicine and residency in Infectious Diseases from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Masters in Science and PhD in Public Health from Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública Sérgio Arouca, Fundação Oswaldo Cruz with training in Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University and in Global Health at Harvard University. Attended courses on Big Data, Social Analytics and AI in Healthcare at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and of Operations Management Digital Strategy at Northwestern University.

With extensive experience in teaching and clinical hospital care, in the last 20 years has taken part in epidemiology research with publications in peer-reviewed journals and training projects in underserved regions and countries. Is co-founder of the riscobiologico.org project. More recently, has focused on leading strategic planning projects, health system organization and care management efforts.

Stephanie Schemes

Legal Compliance Manager and Data Protection Officer

Stephanie is a lawyer who graduated from PUC-Rio in 2018, with emphasis on Law, State and Society. She specialized in Finance for Lawyers from COPPEAD-UFRJ (2019) and Law, Innovation and Technology from FGV (2022-2023).

Significant experience in structuring Compliance programs and policies, having participated in numerous corporate investigations, preparation of reports, reports to Conduct Committees, training and internal communication actions, in addition to structuring privacy programs to comply with the General Data Protection Law from Brazil (LGPD) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
