Instituto Brasileiro para Segurança do Paciente
With the publication of the report “To Err is Human” by the Institute of Medicine in 1999 a wave spread over the whole world. This wave was nothing less than the realisation, by health professionals and institutions, that the assistance we offered was far from good.
Every year, all over the world, hundreds of thousands of people are victims of errors or failures in care. This is also a reality in Brazil. A reality that many are trying to change.
The IBSP has the following purpose: to help to transform patient safety in our country.
During their visits to Brazil, the Microsoft Global Health Department could come in touch with several health care systems. They could see how different medical institutions with different levels of resources and infrastructure are using advanced analyses to improve health care and efficiency.
Epimed Solutions is a Microsoft partner specialized in system development and a market leader in clinical data management. Its aim is to improve the quality and efficiency of hospital assistance.
Epimed Solutions Belgium and SIZ Nursing are pleased to announce the partnership that will make a difference in the work performance of nurses in Wallonia, Belgium.
Signed in January 2019, this partnership makes available, FREE OF CHARGE, to SIZ Nursing affiliated the use of the NAS module of the Epimed Monitor ICU.
The Nursing Activities Score (NAS) is an instrument that allows the assessment of nurses’ workload, based on the time spent in nursing activities related to the care provided, regardless of the seriousness of the illness of the critical patient.
For more information about the score, please click here.
Understanding the importance of this tool for the improvement of care provided by Wallonia nurses, Epimed Solutions Belgium and SIZ Nursing undertake to give full assistance to its use, in order to promote, within a short timeframe, indicators that may help in the understanding of the nurses’ work profile at the Walloon ICUs in Belgium.

– Face-to-face training of the nursing team;
– Online support;
– Integration with hospital administrative systems to facilitate data collection;
– Possible participation in publications of scientific articles.
To enjoy all these advantages, the only requirement is that 20% of the nurses who work in your ICU are affiliated with SIZ Nursing.
