We know that the Safety Culture is an important pillar in the structural component of the services, which encourages the implementation of safe practices and decreases incidents and adverse events. The term “safety culture” was first used by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), when it published Safety Culture: a Report by the International Nuclear Safety Advisory Group.
In the healthcare area, the patient culture was defined by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) as a product of values, attitudes, perceptions, skills, and standards of behavior of groups and individuals.

According to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), discussions on patient safety increase understanding and awareness about the topic. However, this discussion requires “front-line” employee involvement and this aids the organization in developing a safety culture.
